Have you ever heard of stem cell injections for knee arthritis? I have! In fact, I got my first injections back in 2012. Where did these cells come from? They were extracted from my bone marrow, fat, and blood. (Yes, they used some BIG needles to extract these stem cells).
I have decided to partially resurrect my old medical stories blog within my new blog at Eightfold Fitness. Why? Cell therapies are becoming more widespread and popular. People considering these procedures need to hear stories from patients about the LONG TERM results of cell therapy.
As time goes on, I will release several key entries from my previous blog that I still have.
Here is what I had done over a 2 year time span between 2012-2014:
2 Injections of bone marrow and adipose (fat) derived stem cells + platelet rich plasma.
4 Injections of adipose derived stem cells + platelet rich plasma.
All injections were ultra-sound guided.
Stay tuned for my experience with cell therapies.
