What does working with a personal trainer using corrective exercises and restorative movement look like?
As part of your overall conditioning program, every session will include exercises, posture and movement education, as well as take home assignments so you can overcome your chronic orthopedic issues. My goal is to make you an expert in the biomechanics of your body.
Once your orthopedic issues are addressed and PAIN FREE function is restored, you will be transitioned into performance level fitness. This is so you can gain confidence and durability in your body. You can then start to do what you want without fear of getting injured again. As you gain more strength and fitness you can get back to sports, working out, gardening, or whatever you had to stop doing because of pain and weakness.
Restorative movement
The concept of restorative movement is simple. People often cause injury (or more often stay injured) to their bodies because of the way they move, sit, stand, or don't move. Half the challenge with overcoming dysfunctional painful movement is learning how to move, bend, sit, and exercise differently.
Corrective Exercise
The right kind of exercise can change a person's life, while the wrong kind can derail it. Any exercise that is used to restore posture, dysfunction, reduce pain, or bad alignment is a corrective exercise. A well done strength training program will include exercises that will help your body regain pain free balance while exercises that work against your body will be excluded.
